How Long Can You Last In This Frozen Water Burial?

That’s right. It is an All Metal, All Weekend weekend.

At last count, yesterday as I was leaving work, the score was: Sandwich Control – 20   Mice – 0. I have not checked today to see if my score has increased. I would probably put some money on the line that is has.

Last night Pancake Land went out for a girl’s night and I took the opportunity to have a little me time and I made myself risotto and asparagus. I do not know if it was a fluke, or if it was an increase in my culinary skill, or if it was the fact that I was cooking for myself, but I would have to say that it was the best risotto that I have cooked to date. When P.L. returned home she tried it and agreed that it was the best that I have made, but I will hold off excepting that encouragement until later today, when she tries it a little more, shall we say, sober. Sometimes, when sobering up, anything you consume is the “best you have ever eaten”. Once, when Nicky the Cook and I went to Bloomington to visit Shamrock for his master thesis show, I drunkenly ate a slice of “the best pepperoni pizza I have ever eaten”. Granted, Rockit’s Pizza is notoriously the best pizza in Bloomington, but I am going to have to say that that was the Sailor Jerry’s doing a lot of the talking that night and, as a matter of fact, most of that trip. Ah, those were the days when you could just walk around in a trench coat, bottle of rum in one pocket, bottle of ginger ale in the other, and just dance to heart’s content.

The plan for today is a pretty laid back one. Take a shower, have lunch with Mom, pilfer through the food closet at church for snacks, sew the text block for my cookbook/notebook, maybe watch a little television. Tomorrow is the day of doing the tedious task of studying for my Probability/Statistics and Nutrition tests. Lame.

Well, I guess I should go and get cleaned up if I am going to be seen in public today. More soon. ~SC
