A Failure Of Epic Proportions.

I am so forgetful these days. Today I forgot my vitamins at the house and forgot to put coffee on this morning. But, my epic failure in the remembering department occurred yesterday. Yesterday was National Sandwich Day. And I forgot it. I knew about it and just forgot it. I am so dumb.

John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich.

John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich: Pimp, Gangsta, Poet.

National Sandwich Day is actually the birthday of the John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, the “inventor” of the sandwich. He “invented” the sandwich when he needed to free up a hand so he could play poker. Supposedly, he told his servant to take his dinner and put it in between two slices of bread. Then he picked it up and ate it using only one hand, leaving his other hand free to clean house at the poker table.

And I have let him down.

It seems so clear to me now. I was craving a sandwich last night. It must of been the ghost of Ol’ Johnny Sandwich trying to alert me to my shortcomings. Great. Just what I needed. Someone else to give me grief.

So, Happy Belated National Sandwich Day! Go to Subway, or Schlotzsky’s, or Quizno’s, or Firehouse, or any of the other sandwich joints, preferably your local mom-and-pop deli if you have one, and get yourself a sandwich. Oh, and while you’re there you should pick one up for me, too.

Maybe, I’ll go to Panera Bread and see if they will make me a Jambon Beurre on baguette. Mmmm…. ham and butter on white bread. You gotta love the French.

Anyways, back to the stuff that has got me spinning right round like a record. Prob/Stats has worked itself out in the way that the publisher of the text book does not release a Mac version of the program, therefore my teacher can’t force me to do it, but has elected to give me the points anyway due to my lack of ability to complete the assignment due to no fault of my own. He apologized for the inconvenience and we moved on. I rocked the Nutrition test last night. Still no word from City Wire. My editor is having lunch with the Secret Doctor today, so hopefully I will have an approved copy in my hands by this evening, but I’m not holding my breath. Pancake Land and I started the major push to get the wholesale order out last night, though we did not get very far.

Well, there’s the whistle, you know like on the Flintstones. Time to get up and go to work. More soon. ~SC
