HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY.
Today I had planned on providing you with things to be thankful for by posting pictures of people with horrible disfigurements, but since a big part of today is eating, I decided against it. I’ll let you keep your appetites. For now. In reality, I am saving the maimed and disfigured for Christmas Day. Won’t that be nice? I just wanted to give you something to look forward to.
So, instead of images of grossly disfigured limbs, I have decided to make a list of things that I am thankful for. (Believe me, I know how lame this sounds, but sometimes you need to stop and count your blessings and/or dressings.)
Things that I am thankful for (in no particular order):
Not Being Horribly Disfigured.
Coffee and Cups That Hold Coffee.
The National Science Foundation for giving me a scholarship so that I could buy my lappy.
Sandwiches and John Montagu for “inventing” them.
Movable Type and Johannes Gutenberg for inventing it.
Irma, Julia, and Martha.
Tom, Padma, Gail, and Toby. (Who were not on last night.)
My Friends and Family.
Japan circa 600 – 1868 A.D.
and, of course, You the Reader.
I’m off to make Risotto and stuff my face. Have a wonderful holiday. More soon. ~SC
