Yesterday was a spinny day. The kind of day where the world just spins around and you sort of spin, too. Only in a much more disorienting fashion. Everything, from the time I got up, until the time I went to bed, was off ever so slightly. I think a lot of it has to do with my peoples being in town and the wanting to see them. The change of pace, I guess. The deviation from the normal routine. Maybe even the anticipation of Grismas presnents.

Last night, Zaxxon and I went to dinner at a restaurant that will be one of my first reviews for the City Wire. It will be one of the first simply because my plan is to do a few of them in the coming weeks so that I will be a little ahead of the game. You know have aces in sleeves and whatnot. I won’t spoil where I ate thereby forcing you to read my columns when they come out. I am having to work pretty hard to keep my two writing ventures separate. Well, separate enough to ensure that I keep this job and so that people will read both. Plus, I can get away with more here.

After dinner, we caught the 7:05pm showing of Invictus, the new Clint Eastwood flick. It would have made a lot more sense if I knew anything at all about rugby. It was a touching film. Very emotionally charged and moving. I could not help but notice the underlying parallels that Eastwood drew between that Presidential administration and the current U.S. Presidential administration and, somehow, the film still managed not feel to preachy. They ram the point down your throat, but you don’t mind. For the first time in my life I think I know how it feels to be Sasha Grey. Err. Movin’ on.

The movie was alright. Wait for the video and get it from Netflix. Don’t waste your entire paycheck paying to see it in the theatre. Especially when you could waste your entire paycheck on presnents for me for Grismas. I told Zaxxon after the movie, that I was a little disappointed that Clint Eastwood wasn’t actually in the movie. I think it would have been a totally different movie if Clint had played Nelson Mandela.

“We’re gonna unite South Africa using Rugby. Punks.”

Awesome. I don’t think Clint Eastwood in “black face” would have gone over well at all. I don’t know, though. It worked for Robert Downey Jr.

I'm the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude.

Well, I have to go try to keep the world from spinning. Wish me luck. And a cup of coffee. With cream and sugar. More soon. ~SC
