Yesterday, Pancake Land did not feel well, so we stayed home and I made steak-n-taters. Don’t worry, there was corn and a mixed European lettuce salad as well. It was delicious. I am have the hardest time cooking beef, though. I think that I have come to the conclusion that all steaks should be cooked on a grill. They were never intended for a pan. That is why the cavemen invented meat, so that they would have something to cook on their grill. The grill is widely accepted as the second invention, right after the wheel. The invention of a propane burner system followed shortly thereafter.

E. B. White.

In addition to more digging through the City Wire archives, I did a little reading through Strunk and White’s The Elements of Style yesterday in preparation for this new writing adventure. That book is wonderful. If you ever write anything, letters, essays, shopping lists, anything, you should get this book. You’ll be surprised by how many questions that you didn’t realize that you had and that they answer.

Well, it’s Monday, which means that I am getting around slowly, can’t focus, and need to get to work. Three days to presnents and counting. Woohoo. More soon. ~SC
