Yesterday, it managed not to rain. So, needless to say, I got my first bit of real sun yesterday. My shoulders are pretty pink this morning. Sadly, though there was no audiobook listening to be had on the job site. Communication is pretty important out there. Even if we suck at it, it is still important. There is always somebody yelling from the top of a precariously placed ladder that they need something. A tape measure. More nails. A Sharpie. Help getting down. Always something.

Since we finished the framing yesterday, the block layer is coming today to block around our framing and then the concrete people will pour the roof. Once all of that gets done, we will go back to insulate and drywall. In the mean time, I am probably going to end wandering between the office, where I will work on the mailing list, and the studio, where I will be working on firing an electric kiln and making tile.

Other than work, I don’t really have too much to report. Framing a room addition pretty much wiped me out.

Let’s see. Oh yeah, the Humane Society called yesterday and informed us that our army o’ kittens is ready for their booster shots. They are growing up so fast. (sniffle, sniffle, wipe away tear)

Oh, and apparently we missed the premiere of Top Chef Masters season 2 last night. Awesome. Not having cable television is a pain sometimes, strictly because there are no commercials to remind me of stuff I wanted to do/see/watch/eat/etc. For example missing the first episode of Top Chef Masters would never have happened if we had cable, because Pancake Land would watch so much Real Housewives of Where-ever I would have surely seen the commercials for Top Chef and, therefore, not missed the first episode. I may sound really upset, but I’m not really. Kelly Choi kinda sucks as the host. I mean don’t get me wrong, watching the big wig names in the cooking world compete at a game that they judge from time to time is awesome, but the host is the one who builds up the hype for the challenge and gets the audience excited about the competition. Sorry Kelly, you’re no Padma. What Top Chef Masters lacks in hostess, it makes up for in James Oseland. Plus, Wylie Dufresne is back on competing again. He is one of my favorite chefs. Overall, I would have to say I am looking forward to watching this new season. It will kill some of the time between now and the next season of Top Chef.

Well, it’s that time again. Time to get up and go to work. My question is: Why is it 6°C? I thought we had moved past that being cold business. Anyway. More soon. ~SC
