In The Lair Of The Ulcerous Duodenum.

*Update* I forgot to give much props yesterday to Dave for helping me think up a title for the post. It was his brilliance that thought up the “Part Deux”. My deepest apologies to him for not showing the proper respect and giving him his well earned dues. So, that said, thanks Dave for putting the Deux in DooDoo.

It turns out that my Nanny has an ulcer in duodenum, which is something that can and is being taken care of. Apparently after receiving nine units of blood (F.Y.I.: your body only holds about 5 liters of blood and a unit of whole blood is 0.45 liters. You do the math.) she was back to her normal feisty self. She was giving the doctors a hard time and complaining about having to miss her hair appointment. The hair appointment thing must run in the family because when Word to Me called to give me the update about Nanny, she wanted to know if I needed Johnny Fox to give me a haircut seeing as how she was trying to work out the details of an appointment for this afternoon. As a matter of fact, I do need a haircut. Well, according to the boss, I do.

I think that Pancake Land lives in a constant dread that I will try to grow my hair out again. I mean, I managed to work the beard, if you can call it that, into the mix. What’s stopping me from being Pony Boy again? An iron fist in the hair department, for one thing. P.L. hates long hair on guys. This could explain why I had met her at least twice, before she “met” me by chance one night at Woody’s. We had met each other on at least two occasions before that, but, given my “pone”, I did not show up on her radar. She has no recollection of these other meetings. I’m sure the beers did not help her memory either.

Well, April is finito and May is here. Like last year, April has managed to drag its showers into May, but at least I don’t have to water my garden today. On the agenda for today is a haircut, as stated earlier, and helping Jackie the Mick pick up some posts and concrete to repair his fence. Other than that, I’m going to sort of play it by ear. Maybe I’ll go to the book sale at that library. Maybe I’ll go to the going-out-of-business sale at Helene’s. Maybe I’ll just curl up on the couch with my sweet lady. Who knows?

Well, I’m going to go research remotes for my camera. More soon. ~SC
