Insomniacs Gone Wild.

June 18, 2010 by sandwichcontrol

It is by some strange miracle that this post did not happen at 3am, but I’m getting ahead of myself. Let us begin with the things that I forgot to say yesterday and work up to now.

I would like to wish a great big Happy Birthday to Owl-isson, who’s birthday was actually yesterday, but my stupid iCal did not send me a reminder until late in the afternoon. Sorry, Owl. Also, yesterday was my 9 year anniversary in Lippincottonia. That  means that I have somehow avoided pissing off Le Duke to point of firing me, so far. I get him up to the brink and then blindside him with artificial kindness.

Le Duke: (angrily) “You are f….”

SC: “I got you these flowers. Out of your yard.”

Anyway, nine years. Weird.

Okay, so that pretty much covers the stuff I forgot yesterday. On to today.

Today is Friday and that means my new article is up on the City Wire. You get to read it here.

Last night it was the strangest thing, well, not really, but I woke up around 11:45pm and could not go back to sleep. The me waking up coincided with Pancake Land’s arrival home from the Charlie Daniels Band concert and subsequent bar adventure. That’s normal for me. I wake up to make sure she is okay and then I go right back to sleep. Well, in hindsight, I like to think that I go right back to sleep, but I don’t think that I do. I normally stay awake for a while, I guess. Well, anyway, last night was the worst case of “I can’t go back to sleep” that I have had yet. I finally got back to sleep sometime after 3am. Let me tell you, that Pancake Land was asleep before her head hit the pillow and by that I mean that she fell asleep on the couch watching Shawshank Redemption. I struggled with my awakeness for the duration of that movie (I think she had already watched part of it earlier) and about two hours after that. I finally got her to bed, read for a while, and finally got myself to sleep just in time to catch about three hours of shut eye before the alarm went off and I got up to make this post for you.

I feel like someone has made a drill bit out of exhaustion and they are tapping into the top of my skull. My vision blurs, my ears ring, I feel a little dizzy, and I am ruggedly handsome. I need more coffee. Hey, I just found this photo of Morgan Freeman. I like him. A lot.

"Go. To. Fucking. Sle-e-e-e-ep."

I go to lay bamboo floor now. More soon. ~SC
