A Punch In The Face Is Worth A Thousand Words.

I would like to start today off by wishing a very Happy Birthday to Le Duke. You should take the time to wish him one as well.

So, Don Chulius should be arriving soon. His folks are on their way back home and they are going to drop him off here on their way to the airport. He has been curious about the crafter’s lifestyle for a while now, so this should be a good experience for him. It will be like walking through a Hooverville of crafts peoples with me leading way saying stuff like “The bread lines aren’t so bad.” Well, maybe it’s not quite that bad. Actually, the part he gets to see is the glamorous part. The facade. He doesn’t get to see the shirtless hippies sweating in an empty convention center with no air conditioning as they turn cardboard boxes and pieces of sewer pipe into pedestals and display racks. We use whatever we can that is light weight and cheap.

Maybe the Don will be our good luck charm. Yesterday wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. The first half of the day made the rest of the week look terribly bleak, but once we wrote a couple of orders everything was okay. Let us hope that the buyers come out in droves today and are ready to write orders. I would really love to pay for our trip out here.

Despite all of the cool things that I have seen here in Baltimore, I still love Philly more. Maybe it is because Philly is a little dirtier. I also think that Philly stands on its own two legs and Baltimore is like “look at us, we’re right next to D.C.”. I don’t know. There’s something about this town that is just strange. I can’t put my finger on it. Whatever it is, it is not as cool as Philadelphia. If you can’t tell, I’m not really awake, yet.

Well, I need to go get ready for this possibly very long day. More soon. ~SC
