I Wasn’t Ready For Monday.

I would like to start off this still-dark-outside Monday morning by wishing Babbylon Tim a very Happy Birthday. You should try not to forget to wish him one as well.

Did I mention that it is still dark outside. It is 7am and it is still dark outside. Great. The days are getting shorter already and we won’t be “falling back” an hour until November 7. By then there might not be any daylight left at all. What are we gonna do? Answer: headlamps. I do love my headlamp. All of this talk of darkness has put a chill in my bones, which is strange because it is like 25°C (77°F) in my house right now. I guess compared to the 33°C (91.4°F) days we’ve been having it is kind of cold. I just find it strange that I am cold in August, that’s all.

So, Monday, huh? Can’t it be Sunday just a little longer? Last night, I had these awesome nightmares about not being able to get to class on time tomorrow. I guess the nervousness I feel about missing the first week of class and ultimately playing catch-up the rest of the semester is manifesting itself in my dreams. Cool. It wasn’t like I was trying to rest or anything.

Eazy is still adjusting to the new kittens. The kittens aren’t afraid of him, but he still hisses and growls at them. I guess it is his way of sort of telling them who’s boss cat ’round these parts. The kittens still puff up every time Jenny runs by them, though. It’s so freakin’ cute. All of them puff up at the same time. Ridiculous. So far, Jinx is the only one who has figured out how to escape the KCC (Kitten Concentration Camp). It’s not like he does much, other than be hissed by Eazy, while he is out, though.

Today, my list probably has a lot of making forms on it. Fish, turtles, hand-built mugs, platters, maybe some extruded vases. It is a good thing that I got some audiobooks this weekend. I can’t remember if I told you that I cashed in some of my MyPoints points (redundant much?) for an iTunes gift card. Anyway, my gift card came whilst I was away and I spent it a few days ago. Plus, in the midst of all of the running around this weekend, I scored a pair of wrap-a-round Phillips headphones for $2 at the A to Z grocery store. From now on, that’s where I’m buying headphones. It doesn’t matter how nice and expensive headphones are, they all destroy themselves at the same rate when I wear them to work. Given the ambient noise of work, sound quality differences between Bose and Phillips is minute, so why pay more than $5 for headphones. At home, I’ll rock the Skull Candy, but for work I need something that can be destroyed and it won’t break my heart.

Well, I think I’ve rambled on long enough. I need to get ready for work. Oh, I just remembered that my trike is at work. Looks like I’m walking this morning. Monday’s are so cool. More soon. ~SC
