It Was A Setup.

First off today, I would like to wish Taco Planet and Operation B both a very Happy Birthday. You should take the time to wish them one as well.

Next, I would like to state a few observations that I made during our train adventures.

1) The iconic wooden train station benches are not comfortable to sit on.

2) People walking around on trains do so like they are drunk.

3) I saw a woman on the train with two bottles of wine in her purse. I would have judged her, but she was reading Naked by David Sedaris and laughing quietly to herself.

So, I saw Julia Child’s kitchen. It was so fucking inspiring that I would fail to do it justice in words. I saved that exhibit for the end of my trip through the Museum of American History. A big finish if you will. Of course, by then, my camera battery was about to die. I did manage to take a shaky self portrait, but the rest of the photos I took were way too blurry to save. Low lights and whatnot. And shooting through plexiglass, so the flash was a no-go. On the way to Julia’s kitchen I did manage to capture a few photos of some very important American History. Such as:

The Beastie Boys's Ghetto Blaster.

A Parliament Funkadelic jacket.

and…

A tube of Black Face makeup.

After the American History Museum, I went to the Museum of Natural History and got rejuvenated with bugs and skulls. I almost bought a really amazing photo of Charles Darwin. It wasn’t the price that stopped me ($12), but the thought of lugging it around all day, since it wouldn’t fit in my backpack, that prevented me from getting it.

After there, I hopped back on the Metro and went to meet up with Le Duke at the International Spy Museum. I have to say, for the money I spent, I think that the Spy Store was way better than the museum. I scored some awesome treasures for me and no one else. Mwhahaha.

After the Spy museum, despite a rocking headache, we still had about two hours to kill before our train back to Baltimore, so we crossed the street and went to the Museum of American Art and Portraiture. It was a refreshing. They had a really amazing exhibit of Norman Rockwell paintings. The exhibit was comprised of paintings and drawings from the private collections of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. Let that sink in for a second. Anyway, it was fantastic.

I did not get to see Don Chulius or the Baroness Ida von Blitzenstein because both sets of parents were in town for the weekend, but I think the Don will coming up to Baltimore to visit me one day this week. Unfortunately, the Baroness has to work this week, so I won’t get to see her. Drag.

So, today is the big setup for this here wholesale craft show. I am not looking forward to the dick-jamming festival that is going to be trying to set up. I’ll let you know how it all turns out. Well, the sound of Le Duke eating trail mix is driving me nuts, ha ha ha, so I must escape the room. More soon. ~SC
