I would like to start off this morning by wishing a very Happy 80th Birthday to my Nanny. You should be sure to wish her one as well. In honor of this wondrous occasion, I am declaring it an All-Metal All-Weekend Weekend. Not because my Grandmother rocks the Slayer, but because Metal is the only thing that will make dealing with the insanity of most of my family being under one roof for an extended period of time bearable. To celebrate my Nanny’s B-Day we are having a catfish cookout at Word to Me and Big D’s house. I have managed to get my hands on the (not really so) super secret Creamy Bar recipe and Operation B and I will be testing our mettle in the kitchen later this morning.

Yesterday did not go at all like I planned. I ended up ditching Word to Me in order to have lunch with Nicky the Cook in Ozark. Totally worth it, by the way. Then after work as I was stapling the wiring into place in my new office I said to myself “Hey, I’m hot and sweaty and disgusting. Screw it! I’ll start insulating now.” As it turned out Operation B called right after I started insulating and, since he was on his way to his Mimi’s house (right down the street) to sit around while his mom cleaned, he came by and we knocked that whole project out.

So, the only stuff left to do in my new office, before I can move all of my crap into it, is: drywalling, mudding, sanding, painting, flooring, and trim. I should be able to get the drywalling and mudding done next weekend. Then I can do the rest of the stuff myself.

As for today, I am supposed to pick up Operation B in about two hours and we will head back here to cook. Then, off to meet Word to Me and help her do some pre-party setup stuff. Then, PARTY! After the party, I don’t know what. Maybe a nap. (Ha!)

Other than that, I have no idea what is going on. Tomorrow, Curly Bill and I might be making a chicken pie. We are still waiting to see if he has to work. I’ll let you know. Anyways, more coffee is needed. And Metal. Lots of Metal. More soon. ~SC
