When Reality Sets In.

Today I have to meet with my faculty adviser. Apparently, this Spring I am registering for college as a Senior. Let me just say that I am only a Senior according the number of hours I’ve taken, not by the progress of my degree plan. Anyway, I was thinking about being a Senior and it dawned on me that my financial aid will probably be running out soon. Most grants and scholarships cap you at a certain number of hours. Great.

Just when I decide to get serious about getting my degree, I’m going to run out of money. I needed a plan. So, I came up with one. I am going to have to go into really unfamiliar waters here, I’m going to have to save money for college. My thinking is that I get a little bit of leftover money back from my grants and scholarships every semester, so that money can be wrangled from the mitts of my Legos fund and dumped into my college fund account. Plus, I should be able to take my humble earnings from my Letterpress job and use those toward paying for classes as well. Come to think of it, I might get a discount because I am now an employee of the University. Mwhahaha….

My plan for the Spring is to spend all day Tuesdays and Thursdays at school. Oh, and Chem II lab on Monday. Microbiology, Chem II, and Bookmaking and Fine Printing II. I’ve decided to only take classes that count toward my degree with the exception of Letterpress courses. I figure, I work for the Letterpress shop so the more time I can spend in the shop learning and practicing printing, the better. My plan is coming together. Now I must go meet my adviser. Wish me luck. More soon. ~SC

You will definitely get a discount for school as an employee. When I worked in the mailroom in Fayettenam they laid that one on the table.

  3. jessica says:

But you’re part time and hourly probably so it will be a totally unimpressive discount if any. Parade=rained on.

Oh gee I was kindof hoping I was wrong…
