On a Foggy Night.

November 30, 2010 by sandwichcontrol

I got home last night and it was eerie outside. And this started playing in my head:

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. It just seemed to never end. That was until I had to get a bunch of stuff done before bed time. Then the time flew by on wings made of eggroll wrappers. Mmm…eggrolls.

My brother has this “app” on his phone that provides him with random facts. He sent me one this morning, or maybe it was last night, whatever. Here’s the fact he sent:

“The temperature can be determined by counting the number of cricket chirps in fourteen seconds and adding 40.”

I can understand and agree with that to a certain degree. No pun intended. But what about all of the temperatures below 40 degrees? And what about the rest of the world who uses Celsius? I guess after adding 40, they just multiply by 9/5 and then subtract 32. I think if I had to calculate the temperature that way for very long, I’d just buy a thermometer.

Well, the clock is ticking on my semester and I’ve got to get to class. Only three days left before Finals Week. Wish me luck. More soon. ~SC
