Gringo Hotel.

Hey, according to my watch, it is Sunday. That is irrelevant in my case because I will be working today. Well, let’s hope that I am working today. The past 2 days of the show, aside from Amy Sedaris, have been totally devoid of enjoyment. I hate waiting around and that is what we’ve been doing for the past 2 days. Waiting for buyers to show up. If we haven’t written an order by noon today, I am going to K-Mart and I’m buying a remote control car.

So, Amy Sedaris. She is tiny and awesome. She signed both of my books, which I forgot to photograph to show you, but I’ll try and remember to do that today sometime before buying the remote control car. As I had mentioned in previous posts, I had planned on asking her to be in my Daily Photo with me, and I did, and she did.

Question: How cool is that?

Answer: Pretty fucking cool.

Yesterday was interesting for other reasons as well. So Lil’ T, who I had thought was coming by next week, called to tell me they had a change of plans and that they would be coming by last night to pick up Amy the Amazing’s press. Only, I’m in Philadelphia. Luckily, Pancake Land was home and took care of the business for me.Isn’t she wonderful? (dreamy sigh) So, Amy the Amazing’s press is on its way to her as we speak and my garage is about a thousand pounds (453.6kg) lighter. Hooray! In other in exciting news, somebody swiped the Yellow Sub from outside of Dave and Little Miss Cotton’s house. Bastards. I am awaiting some photos of it to post here in the event that any of Fort Smith readers who see the photos might recognize it as their neighbor’s “new scooter”.

Here’s a photo Teacher Sis sent me:

Last night for dinner, we went to this shady bar call Johnny Brenda’s. It was amazingly awesome. It had a Plan B feel to it, but upstairs they had this amazing music venue that was styled to look like an old theater with balconies and whatnot. The most incredible part, aside from the fact that you would have no idea that there was loud music happening upstairs while you are sitting downstairs eating dinner, was the fried bologna sandwich. The waitress, as we were placing our orders, actually said “Good Job” to me when I order it. After dinner, we headed across the street to see a few bands, Gringo Hotel and the Sideshow Prophets, but they had forgotten their mics, so the show wasn’t going to start for another hour and Le Duke, being really old, was tired and needed to rest, so we all split. We did procure the Sideshow Prophets EP and I threw it into iTunes when we got back to the hotel. They remind me a lot of Man Man, who is from Philly just so you know, with a baritone sax. They’re pretty good. I also swiped a poster as we left the bar.

Well, I’m off to find coffee and possibly buy a remote control car. Wish me luck. More soon. ~SC
