Clean The Gunk From My Eyes.

Yesterday was a pretty full day. I mean, it was Monday. Of course it was filled with stuff to do. For the most part I worked in the studio. It is so humid here that nothing is drying so making stuff takes forever. Today I’m going to run the fan to get my pots to firm up enough for me to work with them. Especially after last night’s rain.

So, if you were unaware, it rained like crazy last night and it is supposed to rain even harder over the next few days. It is a good thing that most of this crazy weather is supposed to happen at night, i.e. after I’m home and not triking through it.

Since Operation B got back to town he hasn’t had a mode of transportation. Pancake Land being the sweet maternal person that she is, loaned him her bike. She got this bike for her birthday one year, but it is not like she snuggles with it to go to sleep or anything. But still, it’s her bike. Anyway, pretty much as soon as Operation B started riding this thing the troubles began. The gear shifter stopped working, the pedal broke, and finally yesterday I think a bearing in the front gearing disintegrated. I don’t think it was necessarily his fault, he just happened to be riding the bike at the time, but still it was time Operation B got his own wheels. So, we called up Mission Control W and put in a request for a new bike and our request was approved! Hooray! We went last night, before the big rain and picked one up for him. We found one on clearance and paid the extra six bucks for the replacement plan, seeing as how accidents gravitate toward Operation B. Because the bike was on clearance, we had enough money left in the budget to get him a set of lights for the front and back. Did you know, that in this city, you can get a ticket for riding without a headlight after dark? Apparently, they treat you just like any other automobile driving with their headlights off (a fine of something ridiculous like $215). If only other drivers treated you as if you were another automobile.

It is about time to have the maiden voyage of this bike. At some point, I need to take Pancake Land’s bike over to Scott and have him get it back to working condition. Not today though. Today is a day of leaf soap dishes. Right. I’m off to it. More soon. ~SC
