All Quiet On The Hardee’s Front.

Mornin’. Yesterday was a relatively productive day. I went to work right after I finished the post and got busy. There was a little glazing that still needed to be done, so we knocked that out. Then we closed up the kiln and fired it up. Hopefully Le Duke didn’t forget to shut it off last night. At some point, we handled final arrangements for my transportation concerning this weekend’s dual craft shows. And we started assembling my very own money box. Soon, I’ll be a real boy.

Despite Le Duke’s best attempts to make this weekend more complicated, I think he has finally accepted that I’m not having any of it and he is letting me take the lead on my half of the craft shows. Granted my half is the untested single day show and his is the tried and true three day show, so there is definitely some trepidation about my half. Not to worry, I’ve got this.

The very interesting part about all of this is that The Little Craft Show (Saturday 10am-6pm at 3416 N. College in Fayetteville) happens to coincide with the anime festival that is happening in Springdale which Teacher Sis, Prop Ninja, Bubba Fett, Zab’z, and Ichigo will be at. This is very lucky indeed. For I need a place to crash Friday night, and they have a suite in the hotel of the festival. They’ve graciously invited me to join their party. Accepted. If nothing else, I’ll be able to keep Teacher Sis from being bored out of her mind. This where things get crazy. I think Little Miss Cotton is coming with me to the show. She is willing to gamble on getting a booth because of a no-show enough to help me set up and tear down my booth. Works for me. Plus, the combination of Little Miss Cotton and the anime nerds is sure to be entertaining.

After work at the studio yesterday, I came home to prepare for tutoring only to have my class bumped to Wednesday. Star Trek anyone? Well, in addition to watching Star Trek, I did take a shower and cook dinner. At some point I put on my big boy shorts and worked on researching podcasting mic stuff. Teacher Sis loaned me a USB headset and I gave it a test run through Garageband and it totally rocks. Then I went about researching making two mics feed as one through multiple USB ports. I ended finding out that PCs do not support this sort of thing typically. External hardware has to be involved. Luckily, I don’t have a PC. Mac on the other hand has a special audio plugin built in that allows you to feed two devices in, splice them together, and it reads and records and plays back as one device. It is called something scary like an “aggregate audio device”. Now, I just to get some of that folding money and pick up a couple of headsets to test this hypothesis out. I’ll let you knows as this progresses.

In the mean time, I have to go to work. Today we will be splitting up the gallery into two teams and boxing the pots up. Tomorrow we have to pack the van and empty this current kiln firing. I’m off to it. Have a great day. More soon. ~SC
