Everywhere I Go, It Rains On Me.

It’s Friday. Once Again. That means my new article is up on the City Wire. If you’d care to read it, click here: Crispy Noodle Boat.

For good measure, here’s this:

We have officially made it to Texas. I’d say Houston, but technically we’re in the Woodlands, a suburb of Houston. Thanks to my cousin working for Marriott, we have the bomb hotel room for the weekend. We could trash it like rock stars and steal the television if we really wanted to, but since I try not to ruin any extended family member’s lives, I’ll refrain. I’ll save that honor for close friends and immediate family.

So far on this trip we’ve nearly died about 11 times due to rain apparently making other drivers into total retards. We did stop off at our favorite spot, the Russell Stover’s factory. They have a store where you can buy 3lb. boxes of “bloopers”. You know, the candy that doesn’t look so hot. I also picked up a pound of assorted chocolate covered nuts.

The drive down here is brutal. I realize now, that it has taken us five and half years to forget how sucky the drive is. Don’t worry, we’ve remembered. Oh, and quickly. It also doesn’t help that we are coming for a funeral and a potentially awkward family weekend.

Well, I’d better go get ready for breakfast and a funeral mass. More soon. ~SC
