You Made Plans?

Silly boy.

Yesterday was a day of expecting the unexpected and then getting it. Right in the face.

I started the day off by helping my student change a flat tire. Any of you who have ever done anything involving repairing something on a car know that it takes way longer and is way more complicated than you expected. I expected this to happen. And it did.

In fact it took most of the day. The flat tire left me just enough time to go grocery shopping for last night’s dinner at the Rev. Dark Wombat’s place before I had to head to my workout.

I expected my workout to be brutal. You don’t expect a workout to be that brutal. I expected that as well. Our trainer is a big nerd. He themes every workout after a superhero. Yesterday’s was themed after the way Oliver Queen trains onĀ Arrow. My Green Arrow workout.

Afterwards, my limbs felt like wet noodles. Wet noodles made of pain. Pain noodles.

Really though, it felt good. I felt very…alive. Which pleased me. All I can say is:

I also got word yesterday that I’ll be out of town this weekend. So, no hockey game for me. Sorry kids.

Why will I be out of town? Where will I be? Colorado, of course. Being the grown up. My boss can’t make it, so he is sending me as proxy to be the grown up for his kids. Yes, this is how cool my job can be.

So, I’m going to go ahead and tell Dave that I’m sorry for making Pathfinder not happen this weekend. Unless you want to figure out a different game to play that DW won’t have to be game master on, it isn’t happening this weekend. Sorry, friend.

On that note, I have to go start getting ready to leave for the weekend. I leave tomorrow. Crazy.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
