Culinary Calculus.

Math even Dave can get into.

I did a little food Math the other day. Thought I’d share with you the results of my calculations.

Sister Schubert’s Yeast Dinner Rolls

+ Fresh ground honey roasted peanut butter

+ Teacher Sis’s homemade blackberry jam

= The most ridiculously delicious PB&J slider that you can’t even begin to fathom.

I expected it to be good. Even really good. I wasn’t prepared for the eyes closed, slow breathing, silent moan that followed every bite of this thing.

Also, I’ve had a breakthrough in food chemistry theory. I am currently working on a proposal to replace bread with latkes. Imagine a reuben in between two potato pancakes. Yeah. Or, as I just suggested a second ago, a PB&J. Or a grilled cheese. Or a patty melt. Or a chili dog. Or a BLT. Sub out the mayo for sour cream. The beauty of the latke is that you can eat both sweet and savory with it. Much like bread. But better. The obvious winner in the latke-as-bread sandwich challenge would be the simple butter sandwich.

I’m fat. But I’m not. But I look as though I should be.

What’s the perfect dessert for a latke sandwich lunch? A nap, of course. And here to help you fall asleep is the Dude.

Complete with recorder solo. There’s a link at the end of the video to listen to the rest of the album. If you follow that link, you can download it from their site. I have it. Adding it to the sleepy time playlist.

Last night, I shot a little over 1400 photos of roller derby. Which will tell you what I’ll be doing most of today. Yes, I’ll be sorting through them. Here’s a taste:

Yes. It was a silly night.

Today, I also plan on getting some work done in my studio. I’ve got to start laying out a design for a poster. I might even get to carving it today. I’ve also got a couple of postcards to start printing.

Tonight I have a brief bit of tutoring.

Tomorrow morning is free Saturday workout. If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s too late. The class filled up. Too bad. So sad. Don’t worry, there’ll be another one next weekend.

And then… nachos.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
