Going on Strike.

From the beginning.

I’d like to begin by wishing a very Happy Birthday to Bubba Fett of the Hill Giants. Be sure to do so as well or else your flocks will feel his displeasure.

Yesterday was another productive day.

In addition to my normal work, I cleaned up in the studio a bit more. Mostly the stuff I’d printed on Wednesday. The postcards weren’t dry, so I couldn’t trim them. I’ll do that today.

I did do a few experiments with block making though. I made three more large blocks and a small one. On the small one I used a textured vellum-like paper that I found in the bottom of a cigar box. It kind of looked like spiderwebs or something similar.

On the three large blocks I mounted, separately, a sheet of aluminum foil, a sheet of baking parchment paper, and a sheet of wax paper. One block for each, that is. I keep doubting my communication skills lately.

Anyway, I intend to do one with a Saran wrap at some point. That one will take a bit of preparation and planning though. I’ll have to slowly build up many layers of gel medium in order to give the plastic wrap enough rigidity to print without being crushed.

During the block making and cleaning, I started listening to “Cuckoo’s Calling” again. I started the Cormoran Strike series over. I jumped from Harry Potter straight to Cormoran Strike without even hesitating at “Casual Vacancy”. Janie J and I talked about it and we’ve decided that soon we should just be able to only read or listen to JK Rowling’s body of work. Since she continues to make ridiculously good books. And she’s effing brilliant.

All will love her and despair.

Ahem.

As to today.

I’ve got to go to work for a bit. I plan on proofing those new blocks today. And trimming the postcards, as I said earlier. I might start working on my super secret project, too.

Oh, and I’ve got to go check in for the race. Check-in is this evening. I’m starting to get excited. I’ve made my running mixtape. I’m gonna test play it today to make sure it flows well.

Perhaps at workout this morning.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
