Somewhere Over the Rusty Rainbow.

Way up high.

I’m back. On the innernet. For today.

First up, I’m gonna recap, very briefly, my trip to New Orleans. Then, I’ve got to go. I’m meeting Deinonychus for coffee and then a day full of catch up.

I arrived in NOLA early afternoon on Friday. I spent the majority of the rest of the day playing catch up with these dorks…

Saturday was a leisurely day of getting my bearings and getting ready to see this madness…

Those guys were so humble, so grateful, and such good showmen they blew my mind. It was seriously one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. The whole vibe of the show was amazing. They felt it too. How do I know? Because they went to the merch booth and sold merch just to interact with the crowd a bit more. I bought my merch directly from Killer Mike. Wrap your head around that.

Sunday was a day of recovery and of shopping at the Asian market.

Monday was… a secret. And then Dave and I made kimchi.

Tuesday was float painting day.

Wednesday was baking day at the Sweet Spot in the St. Roch Market. And nerd shopping.

Thursday I flew home. All day.

There was a bunch of other stuff too. Mostly walking.

I took a bunch of photos too. Some of them are here. The rest are forever archived on my computer. For security reasons.

I want to say thank you, in no particular order, to Sweet Dee, Carolina Djembalaya, Momma Misty, Loud-n-Claire, Katie from Philly, Lil’ Gay Joey, and Clifton Deuce for showing me a good time and sharing the city they love with me. (If I forgot to mention you by name I’m forever sorry, but still thankful for you.)

Thank you to the Rev. Dark Wombat for taking care of my babies while I was away and to Betty Strawberry for making sure I got there and back again.

And, of course, the biggest thank you goes to Dave and Little Miss Cotton for sharing a tub of lies with me. For letting me molt in their house. And for all the day trips, night trips, and adventures elsewhere.

Now it is back to the normal realm of my everyday life.

I’ve been brainstorming some ideas.

Ready yourself.

See ya’ on Monday.

More soon. ~SC
