(The Misadventures of Uncle Lettuce: Part Two)

Today’s song is “Battery” by Metallica. It is being brought to you today by Shamrock.

Yesterday’s Daily Photo was a bit low key, but it was kind of ideal for it…

"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"

“I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”

And this is the story of my trip to San Francisco.

Let’s just assume that during all of these things that I’m about to talk about, I was taking pictures.

We left on Thursday morning. We got in mid-afternoon. Mostly we just walked around the area where our hotel was and ate random things.

Friday morning we had planned to go do stuff, but it was raining. So, we flipped our Saturday plans to Friday and vice versa. We went to the College of Arts and Sciences. They had a nice aquarium and a living rainforest. It was awesome. We wanted to go to the planetarium, but the shows weren’t starting until later and we had appointments.

We went to the Exploratorium. (There were about a million children there on field trips.) Imagine every sixth grade science fair experiment ever in one giant warehouse where they encouraged you to try everything out for yourself.

We went to tour our first college and then lunch.

We went back to the Exploratorium to finish, err, exploring.

Then, we went to the Giants game. I’d never been to a baseball game. Any professional sportsball game of any kind. I get it now.

And I ate an effing huge hotdog for dinner.

Saturday we got an early start and tackled the Golden Gate bridge. We walked all the way across it. Then we caught a ride to Sausalito for lunch in a tiny deli before heading up to the Muir Woods. Where the redwoods grow.

And the wolf came out.

After the walk in the woods, I met up with the Bean for dinner and “drinks”. That’s in quotes because the place we met at was way cooler than we were. Her drink was a hollowed out pineapple filled with booze. I had a mocktail. It’s a thing apparently.

I did get to meet her sis though. And that was worth it. That and the chicken nuggets. And the Bean.

I love that girl.

Sunday, the kids went off to do birthday shenanigans and I met up with Clipkid and Sica who drove down for the day. We hit the Yerba Buena Art Center. Then we rode the carousel at the Children’s Museum. And then we ate shawarma.

After that we headed to the botanical gardens and tiptoed through the tulips.

Then, we ate ramen. And it was glorious.

It was great to see both of them. Even though Clipkid is on his way to Arkansas right now. So, I could’ve seen him any ol’ time.

Monday we headed over to Carmel for lunch and a little walking around.

Then to Monterey for some shit-hot aquarium action. It was awesome. So many jellyfish.

I made these videos…

And my favorite…

They’re all better if you mute them and just watch.

Perhaps turn on a Spotify playlist that a beautiful woman made for you.

We wanted to walk around and explore a bit but it was super chilly and windy in both Carmel and Monterey, so that put an end to exploring.

Tuesday was consumed mostly with more college tours. And Fisherman’s Wharf. And Chinatown.

And the wolf came out.

Wednesday, we went to visit another college, but the faculty and staff decided to go on strike that day, so we went to see the Painted Ladies instead. You know, the “Full House” houses.

In the evening, I headed over to visit family. My aunt came down to my cousin’s and we had a big family dinner. I got to finally meet my cousin’s husband and his parents. I also got to meet her son, who is now my nephew not whatever weird cousin term he is actually supposed to be. Why is he my nephew? Because he couldn’t remember my name so he just started calling me Uncle Lettuce. Making him my favorite child of all time.

It was great to see my family.

Alas it was Thursday and time to come home. But first, In-N-Out. Animal style, bitch.

That’s it. My trip to San Francisco.

Boop.

If you wanna see the photos that are less shitty than all the rest, click here.

Today, I’m going to studio the shit out of my day.

Tonight, nachos.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
