Comma… Secular snake handler.
That weekend retreat was just what the doctor ordered.
And by doctor, I mean me.
Seriously though, I haven’t laughed that much in a very long time. And it is the best medicine, after all.
It was really nice to have very limited cell service, so I didn’t spend all weekend dicking around on my phone.
I spent some time with three of my oldest friends. We made fire, did a light hike, cooked and ate a lot of wonderful food, and relaxed.
The weekend started off the way all S.A.N.D. meetings start…
Shamrock wouldn’t arrive until the next day, so we started without him.
On Saturday, I took a little me time out in the trees…
Until the gnats just became too much to bear.
We packed up and parted ways on Sunday morning. I got home in the afternoon and hit the ground running.
Both figuratively and literally.
I had a lot to take care of around the house. Sunday stuff. Housework and chores and whatnot.
I had also been pretty sedentary over the weekend and was starting to feel a little dip in morale, so I went for a little run with Jitterbug down by the river. Fuck it was hot down there. Note to self, don’t run by the river in the middle of the afternoon.
After the run, I came home, ate, showered, and promptly died…
I somehow willed myself to not fall asleep and got back to work around the house.
After a weekend of eating meat and Zebra cakes followed by a burst of cardio, I was pretty wiped out. I called it an early night.
Today is Monday.
Back to the ol’ grindstone.
I have a lot to do this week. Many, many little things on my list.
First up is this workout.
See ya’ tomorrow.
More soon. ~SC
