Every time you sit down.

Happy Tell a Fairy Tale Day!

February 26 – Tell a Fairy Tale Day

I wore myself out yesterday.

As in every time I sat down, I had to work to stay awake.

Our workout was brutal.

Normally my workout is the hardest thing I will do all day and so I feel relieved knowing that I’ve gotten out of the way.

And I did feel that way.

All the way up until I started shoveling mud out of the “creek” that runs through Lippincottonia.

Which I did for two hours.

Well technically I cleared briars and privet for an hour so I could get the wheelbarrow back into the jungle and then I shoveled mud for an hour. Into the wheelbarrow. And then hauled the fully laden wheelbarrow out of the jungle to refill the shallow grave that Taco Planet dug and has failed to need.

All that to say, I’ll be having a shoveling party on Sunday. Because I made fucking zero headway on clearing out the creek. If you have a shovel and wanna use it OR if you don’t have a shovel and want to use one of mine, feel free to join me this Sunday.

Shoveling not your thing?

Boy, do I have a deal for you.

I also need people to clear jungle and haul and possibly burn the aforementioned cleared jungle bits so we can get have better access to the creek.

I feel like I should pause here and explain that the creek that I’m referring to is actually the main drainage ditch that collects rainwater and moves it out of our and the neighbors yards and off to the actual drainage system for the city.

The creek shouldn’t have years worth of decaying plant matter in it slowly becoming dirt and thus blocking the flow of rainwater. But it does. And now we get to shovel it out.

Why clear it?

Because now when it rains the runoff carries new plant matter and various other detritus and smashes it against the fence that the creek runs under as it exits Lippincottonia. All this new mud-to-be pushes the fence over and allows Goo Goo to get into the neighbor’s yard and then she can’t get back into our yard because she is lacking the ingenuity to figure out how to get back.

Which actually happened a couple of nights ago. And it was stupid.

I got the fence back upright for the time being by doing my shoveling yesterday, but it won’t last long with Spring right around the corner.

So, yeah, I need help with relocating some mud on Sunday.

Now I have to go make my tired-ass self workout again.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
