Gracias, guapo.

That’s what it’s like to practice Spanish with myself in the mirror.

I’d like to begin this morning by wishing a very Happy Birthday to Zaxxon. Be sure to wish him one as well.

And Happy Ballpoint Pen Day!

June 10 – Ballpoint Pen Day

Things are happening in my collaboration with Bad News, Kathy.

Our war of art terror is about to step it up.

Speaking of stepping it up, I pulled an all day assault on the basement yesterday.

Like 8am to 6pm.

I don’t know the last time I’ve worked a solid whole work day of manual labor.

I can tell you one thing: I’m not 20 anymore.

My shit hurts. In a good way.

It felt really good to get up early and work all day.

I earned my sleep last night.

With Lord Steel Bear’s help first thing we kicked a lot of ass right from the get go.

He made all the electrical work look like child’s play and his help in hauling all that furniture to the curb was invaluable. It took us like 15 minutes to do what it would’ve taken me all day to do by myself.

Plus he got outlets updated, a new can light installed, wiring cleaned up and out of the way, a light installed in the closet, and the new fan wired up.

I am so ridiculously grateful for his help.

After he headed to lunch I went to the Home Depot for the third and fourth time to get more supplies.

I then painted the entire bathroom, the lower half of the storage room, and where the kitchen once was with my mold/mildew murder paint.

Now that’s off the list.

And it’s time to start the painting of everything.

Since the ceiling drywall can’t be installed in the bathroom until after I get a plumber here to replace the old cast iron pipes, I’m going to start painting the walls and then I’ll begin working on the floor.

I’m so freaking excited to tile this bathroom floor. I’m so over it looking like shit.

While I’m locking myself in the bathroom, Jitterbug, who has cleaned up all the messes I keep making, will be tackling the painting of the rest of the basement.

We make quite the team.

We have eleven days before Le Duc gets here and a lot of work to do before then.

And that’s in addition to our actual work and all the kids’ stuff.

Pray to cod that our shower stall arrives in time.

Any way. Lots to do.

But first, coffee.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
