But more importantly, Happy Caesar Salad Day!

Today we honor one of the greatest by-products of allowing the People the right to vote on things.

In 1924 Caesar Cardini, an Italian-American living in Tijuana to escape prohibition, invented the Caesar salad as a way to cope with the huge influx of hungry ex-pats (also seeking to avoid prohibition) into his restaurant on the fourth of July. He started running out of food in the kitchen so whipped up the salad with what he had in surplus.

Good job America.

Way to make necessity the mother of invention on your own birthday.

Speaking of necessity, my stack of single issue comics waiting to be sorted and boxed was getting out of control.

So after a long day of errands, I tackled cleaning up the stack.

But before I could get to it I had to take Le Duc and La Duquesa to the airport, then pick up some groceries, pick up and drain the coolers from yesterday, meet Jitterbug for a quick lunch, run out to the ranch to tidy up and dispose of a dead chicken, drive up the hill and run work errands, buy comics, drive back down the hill, work on a strange new experiment, and feed everyone dinner.

Then I got to go all OCD on a stack of comics that I have already read.

It felt so good.

Especially since I’ve got a giant stack of single issues that I need to get caught up on.

I seriously doubt I’ll get to read of them today, though.

I’m about to head to work.

Then I’m coming home to work on the basement until I get drug out of the house and into a crowd of people waiting for fireworks to explode in the sky above them.

Tomorrow is a busy one.

I’ve got coffee with the Blacksmith, work-work, home-work, a rehearsal for the wedding I’m performing on Saturday, then English dinner in honor of America.

The weekend is jam packed with socializing and wedding and work as well.

Yay!
