On the side of my shotgun.
Happy Bacon Day!
I don’t know if you guys know this or not, but I’m super fucking over this year and all these coddamn holidays.
One. More. Day.
Despite the irritations of Saturday and all the really random, weird shit yesterday, I read a fuckload of comics this weekend.
The full run of Zero, the last two volumes of MIND MGMT, Silver Surfer Black, the last half of Blue Estate, the first volume of November, the last issue of Fight Club 3, the first issue of INCOMING, and a bunch of other shit I can’t remember right now.
And almost all of that stuff led to me investigating other stuff to read.
So I’ll be loading up the iPad this week to start my 2020 comics binge.
My goal for 2020 is to read My Favorite Thing Is Monsters.
That book is so fucking amazing, but coddamn is it dense.
I’ve been struggling to read it for over a year and I’ve managed to get 60 pages in.
So that’s my New Year’s resolution.
To read one book.
All the rest of the comics I read are going to be bonus.
Another goal for 2020 is to buy the fourth, fifth, and sixth library volumes of Hellboy to round out my set.
If I don’t buy any other comics this next year, I can accept that.
Just as long as I get those three.
That’s my bargain I’m making with myself.
So I can stay on track with paying off my credit card debts.
I will eat beans and rice. I will foresake buying comics. I won’t buy random shit that I don’t need just because it’s on clearance. Just let me have Hellboy.
That’s my reward for being a responsible adult coddammit.
I mean, my goals also include doing 30 minutes of cardio a day, getting my 10,000 steps everyday, not being a fat slob, napping more, putting less time/energy into being negative about stuff, and generally being a better person to the people in my life.
But Hellboy and My Favorite Thing Is Monsters are the two big ones.
It’s important to have priorities.
Speaking of priorities, it’s time for me to get to work.
See ya’ tomorrow.
More soon. ~SC
