It’s how you grow fat pineapples.

The word of the day is: Detritus.

[ dih-trahy-tuhs ] noun rock in small particles or other material worn or broken away from a mass, as by the action of water or glacial ice. any disintegrated material; debris.

I once heard detritus explained as “organic waste”.

I thought at the time “I’m sitting in a classroom filled with detritus.”

Yesterday was a long and rainy day.

And everything was totally fucked.

It’s like someone took my normal Thursday schedule then gave it a shake, a quarter turn, and a good rinse.

Then put it up wet.

We got our first round of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday.

They warned me that my shoulder might be sore and could possibly get a headache.

So it’s basically like every other day of my life, then?

Jitterbug posited the “what if” scenario in which the vaccine cured my headaches.

I could only be so lucky.

It’d probably give some infinitely worse side effect.

Cures my headaches.

Gives me permanent nausea.

Grrrrrreeeeaaaaattttt…

Also my new phone didn’t arrive.

So if it doesn’t work, if it shows up today, I’ll have to wait until Monday to get it sorted out.

Because my man in IT is going on a fishing trip today and will be back in on Monday.

While I was waiting around for the phone to arrive, and the 15 minutes post vaccination, I read.

I finished “The New World” and read all of “Here” by Richard McGuire .

I also made good progress on “The God Delusion”.

And I started “The Best We Could Do” by Thi Bui.

Today is going to be pretty quiet.

Right?
