Blood, Breakfast, and…

A detective agency.

The word of the day is: Endangerment.

[ en-deyn-jeyr ]
verb (used with object)
to expose todanger; imperil:
It was foolish to endanger your life in that way.

Yesterday was a day of getting a lot of reading done.

All of it done in the in-between.

First off the bat I picked up my client’s dog and delivered it to the office.

Because: corporate mascot.

Then I immediately went from there to get GooGoo from her doggy vacation.

Then I spent two hours at the doctor’s office.

It wasn’t anything major.

Just standard check-up and blood/pee stuff.

But they were slow asses.

So I read almost the entirety of “Young Frances” by Hartley Lin.

After that I went back to work.

At which point I finished “Blood Meridian” by Cormac McCarthy.

Jeezus.

That book was heavy.

It was like he just needed a reason to invent and then murder the fuck out of a shitload of people.

Like all of them, but one.

Apparently after doing some innernet homework, that book is known for its incalculable body count.

For good reason.

I think the one death in that really hurt was the dancing bear.

Just senseless.

After that drudge through the bowels of humanity I read “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Truman Capote.

Which didn’t really do anything to restore my faith in humanity.

So I switched gears and am rereading “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” by Douglas Adams.

It’s helping.

After work I rebuilt the fence that I took down on Sunday afternoon.

The one in the front yard.

Today is a day of lightbulbs, rain, more reading, and hopefully bees.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
