Some Say There’s Differences In the Races.

It’s true. Some are 5k and some are 10k.

The only races I care about are anyway.

The word of the day is: Fire.

[ fahyuhr ]
noun
a state, process, or instance of combustion in which fuel or other material is ignited and combined with oxygen, giving off light, heat, and flame.
a burning mass of material, as on a hearth or in a furnace.
verb (used with object), fired, fir·ing.
to set on fire.
to supply with fuel or attend to the fire of (often followed by up):
They fired the boiler.
verb (used without object), fired, fir·ing.
to take fire; be kindled.
to glow as if on fire.

Yesterday was a long one.

Lots of errands.

Lots of back and forth trips.

My meeting with the Blacksmith was good.

We both got cold coffees and then sat outside in the cold wind.

We agreed it wasn’t our finest decision.

It was still good to get a little friend time in.

When I finally got done with work, I stopped by to pick up my race packet for the 5k.

That I have to run in a little while.

The race is at 8am.

I don’t expect anyone to come stand out in the cold and, possibly, rain to cheer on my first attempt at a 5k in ages.

It will not be pretty.

But I’ll finish it.

Hopefully if the weather is gross enough most of my age class will stay home and I will win by default.

Don’t worry I’ll be better prepared for my next 5k.

In two weeks.

Because I’m a glutton for punishment.

Anyway.

I need to go get ready for this.

Wish me luck.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
