A Finite Number.

Of clever things.

So I didn’t make a post yesterday.

We ended up having a late family dinner Friday night and by the time we got everything cleaned up I just crashed.

If you were wondering what the word of the day was, it was: Opulence.

[ op-yuh-luhns ]
noun
wealth, riches, or affluence.
abundance, as of resources or goods; plenty.
the state of being opulent.

Today’s word is: Orbit.

[ awr-bit ]
noun
the curved path, usually elliptical, described by a planet, satellite, spaceship, etc., around a celestial body, as the sun.
the usual course of one’s life or range of one’s activities.
the sphere of power or influence, as of a nation or person:
a small nation in the Russian orbit.
verb (used with object)
to move or travel around in an orbital or elliptical path:
The earth orbits the sun once every 365.25 days.
to send into orbit, as a satellite.
verb (used without object)
to go or travel in an orbit.

I don’t know if I’m lazy or clever.

Perhaps I’m that spot in the venn diagram where clever and lazy overlap.

I can live with that.

Yesterday I worked outside on our new fountain.

It was a gift from Beatle Sue and StanStan the Rockman.

After trying to get it set up for an hour or so, I finally decided I needed a break to clear my head.

As I was walking back into the house I noticed that GooGoo had been fucking digging in the flowerbed again.

Even after I put giant planters with hydrangeas in the spot she likes to dig in order to prevent the aforementioned digging.

I’m already grumpy about the fountain giving me so much trouble.

And now I’m pissed.

I go over and start to move the pot out of the way so I can rake all the dirt into the hole she just dug and the fucking pot cracks down one side spilling dirt everywhere.

That was the last straw.

I was done being outside.

I went in and showered.

Luckily D-Man had hooked us up with racks of smoked ribs and quarts of baked beans.

After showering I ate my weight in smoky goodness and settled in to read comics for the rest of the night.

Today I’m hoping to get the fountain sorted out.

Then the hydrangea pot.

After that I may go over to look at the Rev. Dark Wombat’s shower that needs retiling.

Or I may call it a day.

It just depends on how long and frustrating the fountain work is today.

And that’ll wrap the weekend.

Back to work work tomorrow.

See ya’ then.

More soon. ~SC
