So Many Turns of Events.

That I’m just spinning in a circle.

The word of the day is: Neuter.

[ noo-ter, nyoo- ]
adjective
Grammar.
noting or pertaining to a gender that refers to things classed as neither masculine nor feminine.
(of a verb) intransitive.
Biology. having no organs of reproduction; without sex; asexual.
Zoology. having imperfectly developed sexual organs, as the worker bees and ants.
noun
Grammar.
the neuter gender.
a noun of that gender.
another element marking that gender.
an intransitive verb.
an animal made sterile by castration or spaying.
verb (used with object)
Veterinary Science. to spay or castrate (a dog, cat, etc.).

So I’m fairly certain that Little Miss Cotton gave me this word in reference to spaying or neutering that happens to pets.

But, for whatever reason, I always think of the first definition right off the bat.

It stuck in my head from one of the many scarring grammar lessons I endured in my childhood.

So when I planned the photo I wanted to rep those people that don’t identify as either male or female.

Those non-binary folks.

Not repping them as one of them, but as an ally.

Cod knows that I have never conformed to the masculine stereotypes that were jammed down my generation’s throats.

So I sympathize with non-binary folks’ plight, even if I do consider myself a he/him.

The fun part of this whole story is that yesterday was International Non-Binary Day.

And I had no fucking clue it was.

So I accidentally got to celebrate with the photo.

Yesterday was like that.

I went to the courthouse to marry one couple.

And ended up marrying three.

And I got my assistant back at the office for the rest of the summer.

Kinda by discovering that he’s never read “The Stranger” by Albert Camus.

And somehow I managed to go nearly 48 hours without eating Oreos.

So I had to remedy that.

Today is another adventure.

I’ve got repairmen coming to look at lights at the office.

Then I’m going to the neurologist to get that frontal lobotomy that I’ve always wanted.

After that I feel like I have a lot of stuff to do, but I can’t remember it now and I probably won’t remember it after the lobotomy, so fuck it.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
