Jeezus, Marry, and Yusef.

Just play with the fucking raccoon already.

By the time we made it home Saturday night, I was wrecked.

Which made Sunday’s word feel quite apropos.

[ suh-ren-der ]
verb (used with object)
to yield (something) to the possession or power of another; deliver up possession of on demand or under duress:
to surrender the fort to the enemy; to surrender the stolen goods to the police.
to give (oneself) up, as to the police.
to give (oneself) up to some influence, course, emotion, etc.:
He surrendered himself to a life of hardship.
verb (used without object)
to give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield.
the act or an instance of surrendering.
Insurance. the voluntary abandonment of a life-insurance policy by the owner for any of its nonforfeiture values.

Sunday was a little less peopley.

But not by much.

It felt like everyone forgot how to celebrate holidays.

Like how the fuck do we even Halloween?

I understand the COVID sorta shot everything in eye, but I feel like somehow it’s my fault.

Like I forgot to restart holidays after the Year of Napzzz.

So now no one knows how holidays work.

Or that could just be my Catholic socialization as a child.

Making me feel guilty for shit that is so far beyond my control it’s just silly to think I have any power over it whatsoever.

I guess that ramble leads us to today’s word?

The word of the day is: Surreptitious.

[ sur-uhp-tish-uhs ]
obtained, done, made, etc., by stealth; secret or unauthorized; clandestine:
a surreptitious glance.
acting in a stealthy way.
obtained by subreption; subreptitious.

Sometimes I like to sneak up on the dogs.

Especially if they are doing something they know they’re not supposed to be doing.

The only thing better than the look on their faces is the look on the children’s faces when I make them try some food for the first time.

So we are back to Monday again.

And it’s November.

Which means the buying ban has begun.

Don’t buy yourself anything from now until the 2nd of January, 2022.

Or else you’ll ruin Grismas for everyone.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
