Someone Buried My Record Player.

That someone was me.

Now, how d’ya like that?

Yesterday was rough. And it just kept getting rougher. It just wouldn’t stop.

Finally it eased up enough to let me go to the Belle Starr 5th Anniversary party. I saw a bunch on my friends there. And I found a copy of “Shades of the 40s” by Little Anthony & the Imperials on LP. I also got a couple of records for Jackie the Mick. You know, to butter him up. For bringing him out of retirement and for the helping me with a financial nightmare.

But I don’t wanna talk about that.

I want to talk about Little Anthony & the Imperials.

Since the first time I heard “Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis” a million years ago, I’ve been hunting that record. And I found it last night. It was the little boost of goodness that got me through the rest of my day.

Four days of Pony Camp down. One to go. Still no ponies. This is it. The final countdown. And it’ll be two full weeks, two years worth, of Pony Camp completely pony free for me. I’m setting a World Record here. Get excited for me.

Or don’t. Whatever.

I’m thinking this is going to be a double nacho weekend. That’s how rough this week has been. Not just pony camp. All of it. I’m over this week.

Bring on the barbecue.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
