Twue wuv.

There has been a bit of confusion about the Sandragraphs.

Let me see if I can clear things up just a bit.

The story I heard was that Harry and Sandra Reese were working on a new technique for making plates to use on a letterpress. The idea behind the plate making being that any artist would be able to make theses plates using stuff that they have in their studio or could easily acquire.

The story goes that one day Sandra went upstairs from their studio to take a nap and while she was napping, Harry was struck by inspiration and invented the plate. When Sandra woke up and found out that he had created it without her she was furious. He told her that she was his muse and thus he named it after her.

And they lived happily ever after…

As to what a Sandragraph actually is, well, it is a block of wood or plywood, covered with acrylic gel medium, covered in muslin, covered in yet more gel medium, raised to type high (0.918 inches), and then printed.

The term Sandragraph refers to both the plate and the print.

I am doing a variation on the Sandragraph by sticking stuff like ribbon or string or doll hair between the board and the muslin to get weird effects.

I made another block yesterday during the day.

Then I helped Clipkid start the loading of the moving truck. For 3 and half hours.

After I ran workout, I met up with Teacher Sis and I taught her how to make Sandragraphs. Then we printed the block I had made earlier in the day.

We were so happy to just be making stuff in silence that we forgot to take any photos of us printing or of the prints we made. I’ll get some shots of the prints later this morning and throw them up on the social media.

But first… push-ups.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
