Like Waves Against the Sand.

Like blood in my veins. So too is the ink to the type.

Yesterday was a day of work.

Not in that day job sense.

And not in the toilsome grindstone way either.

I worked for pleasure yesterday.

I labored until I was exhausted in the best possible way.

I printed 50-ish of these envelopes:

Home Envelope

I had set the type for it almost a week ago.

After I printed the envelopes, I put that type away. And I set the type for the cards that go inside of the envelopes. But those are a surprise.

You’ll have to be patient.

I did print them. The cards. They’re done. And drying.

So, I put that type away as well.

Then I began the tedious task of locking up all of the type and cuts and ornaments for my Penpal Poster. I’ll be printing that (hopefully) later today.

All throughout that process, the printing and sorting process, I kept zipping back home to flip loads of laundry.

By the end of the day my hands were filthy and bleeding from scrapes and paper cuts, my back was sore, my feet were hurting, and I was famished. That quick bowl of ramen mid-day just didn’t sustain me for very long.

I rewarded my hard work with a couple of roast beef sandwiches and a couple of episodes of “Jessica Jones” with the Rev. Dark Wombat.

And then back home to deal with all the laundry and dishes.

Remember that dinner party on Friday night? Yeah. There were a lot of dishes to wash and dry.

A lot.

Well, I did them.

And the laundry.

I even emptied the trash.

Then, I passed the fuck out.

It was a good day. A work day in the best possible way.

And now it is Monday. And I have work to do. The work that pays for me to have a studio to work in the rest of the time.

But first, push-ups.

Tonight, meditation. For real this time. Maybe.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
