And They Will Know Us…

By our trail of messy hotel rooms.

Today’s song is “Beedle Um Bum” by Blind Willie McTell. It is being brought to you by Le Duc.

That song’s about vaginas.

I have no idea what I’m gonna do for the photo. I haven’t got around to planning any photos past yesterday’s…

"Jitterbug Boy"

“Jitterbug Boy”

So, I guess you wanna hear about my trip.

Fine.

But I’m gonna make it quick, so pay attention. I’ve got stuff to do.

I should warn you, all of those things that you are gonna ask if we did, save your breath. We didn’t do them.

If you want to follow along visually, you can go check out the photos I took throughout the trip.

The trip consisted of me and King Dingus driving all over the country to take photos.

Day One. We drove to Amarillo, TX. We ate at the worst Buffalo Wild Wings in the world. From that moment on, Buffalo Wild Wings haunted our every footstep.

Day Two. As we left Amarillo, we stopped at the Cadillac Ranch. I tagged a car with my Kathy stencil, thus cementing my street art handle as “Bad News, Kathy”.

From there we went to Roswell, NM. To visit the UFO Museum. From there we went to Albuquerque. Our hotel had a water park inside of it. Which was closed because it was a Monday. And they wouldn’t let me in to photograph it.

Day Three. We headed to Flagstaff, AZ. We met up with Fritschie the Kid and went exploring. We ate ramen. Probably my favorite stop on the entire trip. It was like the city was a tree house.

Day Four. We went to the Grand Canyon. It was amazing. The most amazing part of the whole Grand Canyon experience was this…

rainbow-3

It’s a condiment rainbow. (Ketchup, Hot Sauce, Mustard, Mayo, Ranch, and Relish.)

And it was one item off the (newly revised) Bucket List.

We camped at the Grand Canyon. We were almost killed and eaten by wolves or coyotes. And we caught colds from sleeping in hammocks.

Day Five. We went to Las Vegas, NV. By way of the Hoover Dam. We met up Angie the Queen of Kings and drove around shooting some street art and neon signs. We stayed at the Bellagio (Terry Benedict’s place). That was the extent of us experiencing a traditional trip to Vegas. Oh, and we ate at the In-N-Out. Animal Style, bitch.

Day Six. We headed to Mammoth Lakes, CA. Deep in the heart of Yosemite National Forest. We took a rest after two very over-stimulating days.

Day Seven. We left the woods and met up with Clip Kid and Sica in Yuba City, CA. I went to a pig roast fundraiser for Sica’s museum.

Day Eight. We drove to Lakeview, OR. Amy the Amazing and Scooter took us for a hike and fed us one of the best meals of the whole trip. Plus, Asa let me touch his face. I was honored.

Day Nine and Ten. Portland, OR. Put a bird on it. It was nice to be back in the city. I decided that Portland is the west coast Philadelphia. They even have a really large cracked bell outside City Hall. We opted for two days here to really absorb it. And to rest. We both needed a little time to ourselves.

Day Eleven and Twelve. Seattle, WA. Another two day excursion. I like that city. Not as much as Flagstaff, but I like it a lot. Plus, I got to see Kribbsy (Alpha) who I haven’t seen in over ten years. I did all sorts of stuff in Seattle. Space Needle, EMP, Chihuly Garden, the public market, etc. Check out the nerdy stuff I saw there.

And I got my cup of coffee at the first Starbucks.

Another one off the Bucket List.

Day Thirteen. Missoula, MT. We did nothing here. Other than not get the Chinese food that I wanted because people are assholes.

Day Fourteen. Buffalo, WY. Nothing to see here.

Day Fifteen. Keystone, SD. I saw Mt. Rushmore. It’s a mountain. With faces carved into it.

Bucket list.

Day Sixteen. Sioux City, IA. You’d be amazed at how difficult it is to actually find sarsaparilla soda in Sioux City. I failed to find it. But I almost got murdered by a juggalo, though. Also, they put corn in their mac-n-cheese there. The fuck?!

Day Seventeen. Kansas City, KS/MO. Sweetbread met up with us at the Nelson-Atkins sculpture park. I’ve wanted to see those shuttlecocks since I was in junior-holla-high-school.

Bucket List.

And we finally got to play skee ball.

Day Eighteen. Saint Louis, MO. I put flowers on Irma Rombauer and William S. Burroughs graves. I also visited the arch.

Double Bucket List day.

Day Nineteen. I came home.

That’s all I’ve got. I’m off to watch West Brom kick the ever-loving-shit out of Bournemouth. And have lunch with Teacher Sis and Word to Me. And possibly Prince Jazzbo.

Tonight? Nachos. Duh. I haven’t had my nachos in a fucking month. It’s high time I remedy that.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
