The Same Old Same Ol’.

Sometimes it amazes me that I can sleep through my alarm so much. I am always mad at myself when I do it. This morning I did a double take at my watch because something just wasn’t right. It was because the time read 7:06am instead of 6:06am.
Last night, I was incredibly productive. I managed to roast a turkey breast, carve my pumpkin, eat a cupcake, and do a big chunk of my Trig homework. Granted, I still have another big chunk to do today before the “session expires” tomorrow morning at 11am. At which time my Trig test will begin.
But that is tomorrow. And we are still on today. Speaking of yesterday, I learned a number of interesting things about arachnids yesterday.
1) “Daddy Long Legs” are not spiders. In fact the Harvestmen are more closely related to scorpions.
2) Harvestmen have no venom/poison/toxin whatsoever.
3) It the larvae of the Chigger that eats your flesh, not the adult.
4) Chigger larvae bite you and your skin responds by forming a hardened tubule, i.e. a drinking straw. They do not burrow around in the skin.
5) These “drinking straws” are the red irritation you see when you’ve walked through Chigger Town whilst traipsing through the woods.
6) I am cooler than you.
That last one has strong scientific evidence to back it up.
Anyway, I’ve gotta run. I’ll leave with this video of a Harvestman walking around to some synthesized science video music. Have we got a video? Yes! We’ve got a video.
I’m a big fan of the finger that pokes it from time to time.
More soon. ~SC
