The Midnight Crazies.

Pancake Land bought the cats some toys the other day, because she felt like they were bored. In her defense, they were bored, so I didn’t see anything wrong with this plan of action. When she showed me the toys, I had my doubts about them based on their simplicity, but now I know better. The toys are basically a little slotted plastic ball, think a golf ball-sized wiffle ball, with a bell in it. Can’t get much simpler. What I didn’t take into consideration is that Kingston will spend hours playing with a hair tie. Yeah, you know the ones. A rubber band with cloth around it. Hours. Anyway, the only thing that I worried about with the new toys was that they referred to themselves as “Midnight Crazies”. And it wasn’t like they led with that name. Oh, no. It was subtly written next to the toys under the huge and bright colored brand name of “Just for Cats”.

What I’m getting around to saying is that they are aptly named. When your cat wakes up in the middle of the night, Hellbent on destroying something, hand them a “Midnight Crazy”. Kingston has been playing with one of them for at least 2 hours this morning already. Maybe “playing” is the wrong word. Perhaps I should “savagely trying to eviscerate” instead. Oh, and thank goodness it has a bell in it. I wouldn’t want to have him playing in silence somewhere. Heaven forbid. It sounds like one of those Salvation Army bell-ringers is being attacked by the cartoon Tasmanian Devil.

Moving on.

So, I have my Microbiology test this morning. Am I prepared? Not by most people’s standards. Will I do all right? Yes. Am I worried? Not really. I’m more worried about what I need to get done for Fine Printing and Bookmaking in order to be caught up. I’m more worried about getting my article written in time. I’m more worried about winning the lottery so that I can drop out of this college, enroll in Baker’s school, and then live out the rest of my days selling cookies to strangers. Mmm… cookies.

Well, I’ve got to get ready to go take this test. Wish me luck. More soon. ~SC
