A Chill Wind Is Blowing.

Despite the fact that it is Spring time, the weather here was cold yesterday. The temperature wasn’t that bad, it was the wind that was killer. It was fast and cold. On the ride home from work, the wind was so fast that if I stopped pedaling, I would stop moving all together. What the crap? The weather here is crazy. But, that’s Arkansas for you.
What did I do yesterday? Well, I did a bunch of grown-up stuff. I ordered parts for my lawnmower. I hired a repairman to come look at the dryer. Then I payed said repairman 50 bucks to tell me that I had a blown fuse in my fuse box. Did I learn my lesson? You bet I did. I, also laid a bunch of bamboo flooring and tutored Algebra for an hour in order to pay for the dryer repairman to come out to the house and so that I afford to buy parts for my mower. Being a grown-up is for the birds. After all of that and because is was cold outside, I had to crawl under the house to whack the heater a few times in order to get the temperature inside the house above 16°C (60°F). Pancake Land is cold natured anyway, and still sickly, so keeping her warm is imperative. If Momma ain’t happy… you know the rest. (If you don’t know that saying, because you live under a rock with an innernet connection, look up some Roseanne on your NetFlix instant queue. You’ll get the picture.)
I got a sort mixed blessing yesterday as well. Just as I was getting excited about doing my mysterious assignment concerning Winogradsky columns, the entire assignment got canceled because of some scheduling issue with the Undergraduate Research Symposium. So, at least that’s one less thing I have to worry about. But I still plan on doing the research for you because I know that I’ve peeked your interest in Winogradsky columns and I know that you are too busy (lazy) to research them yourself. Don’t worry, I’ll take are of it for you.
In yesterday’s post, concerning the link that was posted for those of you who do not want to read my new article, it has been corrected. I apparently posted exactly the same link on both the want to read and don’t want to read links. Sorry about that. It sort of happens from time to time. What you expect from a guy who is not really awake?
So, Operation B is here for the weekend. He is crashing at my house due to extenuating circumstances, so you know the rules. What happens when you come to Holliday Island? You get trapped in ice.
So, today… what to do, what to do? Well, I need to go buy fuses. That’s for certain. So stupid. I also need to go to the bank and deposit some money in my account, thus covering the cost of being a grown-up. Maybe eat something with Word to Me. Then, dinner with the S.A.N.D. brethren. Maybe reading a little bit. Maybe working on the cookbook. Who knows? I might go borrow Le Duke’s mower and clean up the yard, because it looks like crap. I only thought it looked like crap last week when I went to mow it and discovered that my mower was busted. Now, looking like crap has a whole new meaning.
Well, I guess I’m going to get ready to do some stuff. Have a wonderfully relaxing Saturday. More soon. ~SC
