In The Land Of The Thousand Pearl Snaps.

So, yesterday was a pretty good day as well. A little less eventful than Friday, but still good. After making my usual daily post on this here website, I made a pot of coffee for my sweet lady and headed off to have my ears lowered by Johnny Fox. From there, Word to Me and I headed out for lunch on assignment. My belly has been acting weird lately, and I ended up bringing most of it home with me, but it was still rather enjoyable.

After lunch, we headed to the new AtoZ store that’s right by Holliday Island for some cheap deals. I am still in “buy cheap headphones” mode so I paid little attention to anything else in the store. And, alas, no new headphones. After we finished shopping I returned to Holliday Island to continue my adventures with Harry Potter. A little while later, Pancake Land went off to pick up a few things for Steenie’s birthday bash that was happening later in the evening. When she returned home from her errand run, she burst into the room and hurriedly blurted out:

“How big is you neck?”

me: “What?”

P.L.: “What is your neck size? In dress shirts?”

me: “I don’t know. Why?”

P.L.: “It is imperative that I find out. (as she is measuring my neck with her pink tape measure) At AtoZ…”

me: “I was just at Atoz.”

P.L.: “Really? Did you see the pearl snap shirts?”

me: “No.”

P.L.: “How did you miss them? They have a ton of pearl snaps in only size 14 and they are all only $0.99.”

me: “Really?! I guess I was looking for headphones and didn’t really pay attention to anything else.”

P.L.: “Let’s go.”

And we went. And my sweet baby bought me ten, count them ten, brand spanking new, short sleeved, pearl snapped Western shirts. Happy Birthday to me. They are a little snug, but work perfectly if I keep them unbuttoned. Once we got them home, it took me at least half an hour to unwrap them. They were very well packed with cardboard and pins and plastic bits and ribbons. It was a real job to free them from their packaging, but I did it and am now sitting in my office next to a huge pile of Panhandle Slim’s finest Western shirts. Go Team Me!

After that little adventure, I returned to my reading and waited until party preparations needed to begin. Then I was off and running again. And we had a blast in honor of Steenie’s birthday. And he of course is as handsome as ever:

And that pretty much sums up yesterday. Oh, I almost forgot about me using my superior Math skills to win “Pin the Tag on the Kitten”. I won a luchador mask for my thumb. You know, for thumb wrestling. Now I will be unstoppable. Mwhahahaha…..

Today, I am am pretty much in home mode. Aside from a trip to help K take down that show at Second Street Live and a quick skerp over to Staples to buy the rest of those Skullcandy, I’m pretty much homeward bound to clean up the house and prepare for the week ahead. I should probably go buy groceries at some point as well. But let me get my article written before I think about anything else. Anyways, I’m off to get stuff done. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. More soon. ~SC
