Artsie Films.

How was your Friday? Mine was relatively tame compared to the rest of the week. I spent most of the day in the studio making things. Then I cam home and made tacos. Mmm…tacos. Rather than spending my Friday night doing Physics homework, I decided to take a break and watch a movie with Pancake Land. We watched Black Swan. It was terrible.
I have to say that Darren makes visually stunning films using a lot of old school film making techniques, but God why does he have to get so artsy? I think the 20 year old me would have really enjoyed this film. Aside from all of the hot Natalie Portman action in it, it was just shot beautifully. Unfortunately, the 30 year old me watched it and he doesn’t have time for artsy film bullshit anymore. He asks real questions like “Why did Nina go crazy?” That was never explained and it bugs me. I had to formulate my own hypothesis as to why she went insane. My hypothesis is that she went insane from all of the crotch touching that happened to her throughout the course of the movie. So much crotch touching and so little orgasm, drove her insane and turned her into a bird. It is like the female ballerina equivalent of blue balls. Thus making this movie seem like Tolstoy meets Kesey directed by Russ Meyer. So much depressing sexual tension and crazy bitches. Yep, that sums it up.
What am I doing today? I need to eat somewhere on assignment. And then it is back to the drawing board for Physics homework. Ugh. I am so friggin’ burned out right now it’s not even funny. I need a vacation, again. Even just a weekend off will do. But I don’t get one for at least another 3 weeks. Sigh. Well, I guess I’m going to go do something. More soon. ~SC

I don’t remember whether or not you’ve seen The Wrestler, but it’s Arnoffsky making a non-artsy film. Mind you, it’s still incredibly depressing. But it’s realistically depressing.
Based on the tile of this post I thought you would be talking about Mr Shawn. I’m dissapointed.
By the way I liked Black Swan. I also practice full release.
