Having Dreams Of A Thrown Object Decelerating.

Good morning all. This is day three of Physics. No lab today. Perhaps this will give me a chance to get caught up on the reading and the homework. I felt bad about not being able to finish the homework last night, so I worked on it in dreamland. I don’t know if it was just the fact that I was in dreamland and all things are possible there, but I think I was doing it right. If I get done with this post early enough, I’ll try and put some of it on paper and see how right or wrong I am.

La Duchess sent me a video. Apparently Maru is turning three or four, the video and all of the references to the video tell two different stories. Anyway, it is ridiculously cute, so enjoy:

Also, Sweetbread has put a new post up on his site. It is a pretty honest and funny rant about the Facebook. Click here to read it: Robotic Guilt Trip.

Yesterday, I finished the bamboo floor in the mother-in-law suite. Hooray! All that is left to do is about seven long rows in the sunroom (imaginary dance room). That’s the good news. The bad news is that that room gets hot really early. Hopefully, since I have no lab today, I can get over to the house and get it knocked out before it becomes too hot. If it is too hot up there when I get there at 10am, I’m going to go buy box fans and that’s that. I take great pride in making this floor, but if you think I’ma have a heat stroke for it, you’re out of your damned mind.

I got a letter from my grandparents yesterday. I normally get one a month. Just a hey-howdy-how’s it going? sort of thing. This time around I received a photo with my letter. During the recent storms, one of the really huge/really old Post Oaks got knocked over at the family’s vacation house. The tree is so wide that even my grandfather, who sold logging supplies, doesn’t have a saw long enough to cut it. It is a big friggin’ tree. Surprisingly, it didn’t cause any major damage when it fell. The only thing it hurt was the door to the well house which it dented in the center (you can sort of see it in the photo). Anyway, here’s the photo:

It is pretty serious. There was a note from my Papa that came with the photo. It said something clever about him being glad that none of the kids were there when it fell because they would have stopped growing and all of our descendants would be very short people.

Anyways, I’m going to go do a bit of Physics homework before class starts. More soon. ~SC
