Our current location is a Red Roof Inn (Say What!) in Knoxville, Tennessee. Yesterday was a long day. But today is Friday. That means all sorts of fun things are on the horizon for us today. It means my article is up on the City Wire, for one. Or not. Apparently Mike Tango is off in Floria somewhere and has had technical difficulties posting my article. You’ll just have to wait until next week. That is what I get for hustling to get a bunch of articles written before I left. Another week off.

One more note before we get to me and my shenanigans. Pancake Land had an interview yesterday for a kickass job. She thinks the interview went well, but if you would still send all of the good vibes you can muster her way, I’d really appreciate it.

Let’s see what my notes from yesterday have to say…

Well, on my first turn driving, on what turned out to be an 11 hour driving day, it began to torrentially rain and Le Duke fell asleep. Luckily, I had Tina Fey to keep me company. If you haven’t read, or in my case listened to, her book Bossypants you should do it. Now. Funny stuff.

Then on my second turn driving, I almost ran out of gas because I was paying attention to not killing us instead of staring at the gauges. It worked out in our favor because we got to refuel in a place called Bucksnort which had possibly the scariest bathrooms ever.

Luckily I wasn’t driving when we made it to Nashville at 5pm, just in time for rush hour. Awesome.

That pretty much summed up our day. That and eating a lot of unhealthy food and feeling gross because of it. We are somewhere in the Appalachian mountains. I think. I was never any good at geography. It’s pretty where ever we are. Today we leave the moderately sketchy Red Roof Inn and make our way to Silver Springs, Maryland by way of our Nation’s capital. We have to drop off some furniture to one of the Princes of Lippincottonia, Wavy Gravy Davy. Then, hopefully, dinner at Davy’s restaurant with Don Chulius and the Baroness Ida von Blitzenstein before we return to casa Chulius/von Blitzenstein for the night. Then off to Baltimore the next morning to set up the booth. I’m going to be wiped out after this trip. I can tell you that right now.

Anyways, the road beckons. Actually that’s Le Duke who’s beckoning, but whatever. More soon. ~SC
