Fade To Black.

This was my jam yesterday:
I watched Heavy Metal In Baghdad, which rocked by the way if you haven’t seen it, and I got all teary eyed when they played that song at their most recent concert.
I would like to wish my Nanny a very Happy Birthday today. Be sure to wish her one as well. I’m sure she’s glad not to be spending it in the friggin’ hospital.
Yesterday, ah yesterday. Well. the day started off with a post and a poop (a little one). Then Teacher Sis and I went to Teacher Appreciation day at both Der Staples and Office Depot where we loaded up on bags of free goodies. Mostly ball point pens. But still, I walked away with 3 cases of free pens.
After that I went to lunch on assignment. This one was by far the most intensely bizarre restaurant to date. You’ll have to wait until Friday to hear all about it, though. When I came home, I saw that Miss ViHart had posted yet another brilliant Math nerd video. Enjoy:
Then I began working on a project that has been stewing for well over a year now. When Pancake Land and I first moved into this incarnation of Holliday Island, she gave me an idea for remodeling the kitchen. To be specific about it, she gave me an idea for covering up the incredibly boring, semi-hideous tiles that make up the backsplash. This idea has been lying in wait in my Amazon Wishlist for over a year and I figured that, seeing as how my life has become one big spare time project, I would get it done. So here’s the before:
I have run into a few problems already, though. First, the simple installation that involves little tabs of foam tape, sucks. They don’t stick very well to the walls, so I randomly hear the clanking of falling metal tiles. I’m waiting to get approval from Teacher Sis on more permanent adhesive. Second, I grossly underestimated the amount of tiles that I needed. I had ordered 4 boxes, and I burned through 3.5 boxes on this wall alone. I have rechecked my Math, while I was trying to go to sleep, and I now estimate that I will need an additional 8 boxes to complete the job. Well, it beats working outside.
As some of you may have noticed, I made a very brief post last night about breaking the innernet. Thanks to the diligent efforts of my (unpaid) web service department (Furious Jessy) the website actually looks like it is supposed to again. Let’s have a big round of applause for FJ for cleaning up my messes once again. Seriously, thanks Jess.
Okay well, I’d love to stay and chat with you, but I’ve got shit to do. I’ll go out on a note that you’re not ready for. This is so much more Metal, so much more Gypsy, so much more Soviet than you, your head might burst into flames. Also, admire his topknot. Behold, Igor Presnyakov:
So Metal. More soon. ~SC

Backsplash looks nice.
Also a special note to Igor Presnyakov – I am not worthy. I kneel before your beautiful metal soul.
