Pump My Pudding.

It is currently 23°C (73°F) outside. This is awesome. Because it is so cool outside, I’ve turned some of the fans off in the house. Now it is eerily quiet, but for the scurrying of playful cats. My house is kind of creepy first thing in the morning. It could be that I’m not really awake yet. I keep having weird dreams at night. Maybe my choice of bedtime snacking isn’t the wisest, but it sure is tasty. Enough senseless rambling, on to my notes.

After two failed attempts at remembering, I finally succeeded! Teacher Sis and Lord Steel Bear came by to see the finished tile work in the kitchen and I had to trap my landlord in ice.

Lord Steel Bear.

Also, while they were here, I got an email from Prop Ninja with a handful of videos in it. I’m going to share my favorite with you now. Enjoy:

I do love Rube Goldberg devices. They are the best kind of Physics labs ever.

If you haven’t noticed the updated front page, be sure to check it out. Dave sent me that image last night and it was way too badass not to put on the front page. A great big Thank You to Dave for that.

Yesterday was divided pretty equally between glazing pots that I need for orders and researching recipes for my cookbook. I’ve got Pancake Land checking on a few of her favorite recipes that I’ve been trying to pin down for years, as well as a few newer favorites. Her notes on preparation of dishes is brilliant. There are gems like: “Get some meat. Ground beef or sausage. Whatever. Get a couple of pounds because meat is good. Cook it.” I am particularly fond of the phrase “cook it” as the way to describe preparing the meat for the rest of the dish. Something about these descriptions just made me laugh. Like guts hurting laughing. They are definitely going in the cookbook as they are written because comedy gold like that cannot go to waste.

In my hunt for recipe stuff, I might have accidentally come across a Harry Potter forum or three. And I might have checked to see if there were any recipes from the Hogwart’s kitchens. No avail. I did however find a t-shirt that is both nerdy and Very Metal at the same time. Check this out:

If perhaps you needed one for yourself or maybe your favorite potter/food writer/letter presser/math tutor/daily self portraitist you could click here: All Hail the Dark Lord.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for you today. I’m off to do stuff, and look at stuff, and try not to think about stuff. More soon. ~SC
