Oh, wait, that’s my skin cooking in the sunlight.

I would like to start off today’s post by wishing two great big Happy Birthdays today. The first one goes out to Kribbsy who is finally turning 30. The second one goes out to my friend Barry who is turning the big 5-0 today. Be sure to wish them both a very happy day today.

Congratulations River Valley residents! You just survived the hottest day in all of our recorded history. Yesterday it was 46°C (115°F). It really felt like your skin was cooking. Know why? Because it was. The thermostat inside Holliday Island only reads temperatures up to 90°F and when I got home yesterday the needle was over the 90° mark. That was inside the house. I don’t ever want to hear another person scoff at my saying that I love winter again. I can add layers in winter. I have to sleep with two fans on me in order to not drown in my own sweat.
