She Serves Two Friends.

Last night, Zaxxon called to tell me about a movie. He was excited about it. So I hunted it up on the instant queue and watched it. Now I’m excited about it. So, I’m going to share it with you. Maybe it is just my love of all things Soviet, but this movie was pretty brilliant. It’s called The Trotsky. It’s about this kid in Montreal who believes that he is the reincarnation of Leon Trotsky. And much comedy ensues. It’s cute, it’s funny, it happens to be about the reincarnation of Trotsky. Good times. Here, watch the trailer for yourself:
After watching it, something was bugging me. Something that I could not put my finger on. In the film, the superintendent of the school system is this woman that I know from somewhere. It was really bothering me that I could not place what movie I know her from. So, I gave up thinking about it and consulted IMDB. Oh, yes, that’s where I know her from. She played the drunk mom in House of Yes, the Parker Posey flick about the girl who believes she’s Jackie O. What a small world it is.
Before I settled onto the couch for an evening of good old-fashioned Soviet entertainment, I spent the majority of the day running around with Teacher Sis and Prop Ninja. We ate lunch on assignment and hit the bank to have folding money. Then it was off to Target City and Der Staples for our usual clearance run. I found a cover for my barbeque grill for $5. I also picked up some treats for the cats called “Whisker Lickins”. Yeah, I know it’s a dumb name, but they seem to like them. It’s how Pancake Land bribes the cats into not forgetting who she is during her stint at Guantanamo Bay, I mean her mother’s house.
After out adventure I watched my flick and was lying around the house when Teacher Sis called me. It was about 9:30pm. You see, my mower is busted. And now, Le Duke’s mower is busted. So, my grass is pretty tall. As it turns out, per my conversation with T.S. earlier in the day, she and Lord Steel Bear decided to buy a mower “for the house” and they had found one for cheap at the WalMart*. The only flaw to this was they were in the jeep and could not transport it. It just so happens that I had had a conversation with Le Duke a little bit earlier in the evening where we had made arrangements for me to go buy him a new mower today. So, with a little shifting of schedules and a lot of late night pedaling, I went over to Le Duke’s and got the van last night, met my landowners at WalMart* and got two mowers.
Looks like I’ll be mowing today. And soon by the looks of the clouds in the sky. Tropical storm Enrique Iglesias is stirring up a low pressure front from the gulf and air mailing it to our neck of the woods. It’ll sure beat this 38°C weather we’ve been having. Being drenched in sweat from a walk to the mail box is for the birds.
Well, I’d better get going if we’re going to stay ahead of the weather. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. More soon. ~SC
