The Wheel In The Sky Keeps On Turning.

Oh, I’ve got a lot for you today. Yesterday was an eventful, but still surprisingly good day. As predicted, I spent the majority of my day following Le Duke around putting out fires. He is growing increasingly more scatter brained as show season gets into full swing. Trying to balance making work and filling orders with show preparations and other odd jobs that we’ve picked up along the way, and his brain is starting to resemble an upside down stress cake. Ice that delicious cake with the fact that all he really really wants to be doing is writing, playing, and recording music and your picture of a man wandering around, easily distracted, starts to come into focus.
I literally sat on the roof, that he decided to repair out of the blue, for 15 minutes waiting for him to come back with a tape measure. When I finally came down to see where he was and to get a drink of water, I found him cleaning up the laundry room. Ay dios mio. It doesn’t help that he wasn’t having a great day. These blocks that we’ve been making for the restoration of an old theater sort blew up in the kiln first thing yesterday morning and that sort of set the mood of the day for him. And the fountain we’ve been fighting with for months started leaking again. And on and on. Little things that add up to a bad day. Despite being a disappointment, I thought the blown up blocks were kind of beautiful. Here:
Anywho, enough about Le Duke’s day, this website about me. And I had a good day. While I was sitting on the roof, FedEx showed up to bring me my long awaited belated birthday presnent from Zaxxon. The driver was a little confused and amused by the fact that it was addressed to Sandwich Control. I would tell you all about my gifts, but they are so special that they’ll get their own post. Perhaps tomorrow. I am waiting for a photo from Zaxxon to complete the thing. It’s gonna be a good one.
After I was worn out from doing odd jobs and waiting around for Le Duke to tell me what mess to clean up next, I headed home. While I was riding I found this:
I love found photos. I also love the look on his face that says “Yeah, that’s right. I had sex with this chick. And we made this baby. From sex.”
When I got home I discovered that my tiles had arrived. Remember the metal tiles that I’m putting up in the kitchen? I’ve been waiting on them for a while. First because I had no money to buy them. Then, they were out of stock. Then, I ordered them directly from the manufacturer. And now they are here. Hooray. Unfortunately, this weekend is going to be too busy to do anything about them. But, I’ll get back to that in a minute.
Once I got home I sat on my duff for a little bit to regain enough energy to make Hobo lasagna. I have to say that it turned out really well. Maybe not as good as when Pancake Land makes it, but what are you gonna do? About ten minutes after I pulled that bad boy out of the oven, Teacher Sis and Prop Ninja stopped by to bring me a presnent. Or 9. Indecision can work out in my favor from time to time. She just couldn’t pick one, so she got them all for me.
So yeah, it was good day. Also, I got word that my fancy new coffee pot has been ordered and should arrive next week. More than likely it will get here while I’m gone, but whatever. It’ll be waiting to welcome me home.
Today I’ve got my work cut out for me. I’ve got to get two restaurants in for the coming weeks’s articles. I also need to start finding all of my gear and making lists of shit I need to buy and pack. Tomorrow I’ve got shopping to do, articles to write, and Physics to tutor. Probably some cat snuggling in there somewhere as well. But for now, I’m going to poop. More soon. ~SC
